Concept: Power
Making this shoot is about embracing differences and how many people have been involved in situations where they have felt powerless: Breaking stereotypes and accepting who and what we are.
This shoot is about woman around the world and our ability to connect in a spiritual manner. It is about the female movement through love, art and support.
By sharing our stories we create a collective force that can influence real change.
This project was about how unity is power. Showing how getting together and empowering each other. Some of the examples that were important to create this brief was the Women’s March to promote women's rights, immigration reform, and LGBTQ rights, and to address racial inequalities.
What we wanted to show was a different way of what we think of power, we are used to seeing images of raw or physical strength, with the use of colors and fabrics that are natural and organic we created visuals that appear as soft yet still strong.
The inspiration was the female strength and how hard it is to sometimes break out of social molds, as well as using poses to show physical expressions. The series is divided into three looks. For the first look the models are all wearing different shades of pink, representing how we blend in with the social norms. For the second look, one model is wearing cream while the rest of them are wearing green. This is a representation of how we start developing our own ideas and we start feeling empowered by who we are. The third and last look is all models wearing all different colors which represents our differences and acceptance.
